Handling Day with Marina Scott
On 9 November 2014, members and non-members gathered at Willington Village Hall for a day of handling tuition with Marina Scott. With Border Collies, Bernese Mountain Dogs and Alaskan Malamutes represented, the day would be interesting for handlers & spectators alike.
Marina will be known to many in the breed for her Belsmard affix, but some may not be aware that she is a World Champion dog handler. Having handled dogs since the age of 6, mainly her mother’s Beagles, Marina has also published a book and produced/presented a DVD on Junior Handling.
Catering was laid on by the Club, with bacon rolls on arrival, lunch & tea - all included in the fee.
The event was a great success, with everyone learning about handling techniques as well as ring etiquette, sportsmanship & presentation. A lovely atmosphere throughout the whole day with lots of laughs. Thank you to everyone for making the day so enjoyable.
