Letter to The Kennel Club
"Willow Cottage"
WORKSOP, Notts.
9th March 1974
Dear Commander Williams,
On behalf of the undermentioned who are likely to form the nucleus of a Border Collie breed group, I herewith make formal application for the recognition of the breed.
I enclosed a standard of the breed which we consider to be appropriate, a standard which is already in force in Australia and other countries.
The breed has bred true to type for many years and pedigrees can be produced.
We estimate that in the country at the moment there are some hundreds of specimens of the breed. We should be pleased if you could treat this as a matter of some urgency as a number of people are anxious to make registration.
Yours sincerely,
Marion Leigh (Mrs)
